Dinner and A Movie

Elias Goldberg Cook

Peculiar Supper

Digitally Manipulated Photograph

Inspired by the movie The Giver

This piece explores the relationship memory has with emotions and society. I selected the few objects to be included in the photograph as they include simplicity along with the monochrome format. The slightly red apple and the book were chosen with the idea of memory and knowledge in mind. The choice to include only some of the book was to imply that there is still unknown

Lighter Museum

Formerly the hotel Alcazar

Founded in 1948

Villa Zorayda

Built in 1888 by Franklin W. Smith

As I started brainstorming, the main details that spoke to me were the towers on the Lightner Museum, along with the flat look of the Villa Zorayda. I expanded on those ideas with off setting some towers along with the offset courtyard.

Memorial Church

- Constructed in 1889

- Built by Henry Morrison who was an American Industrialist

Baptist Church

- Henry Flagler gifted the land for this church to be built

- The church was constructed in 1895

I enjoyed challenging myself by choosing to include very simple details from each building into my structure. I was inspired with the geometric tower for the main part of my home and used the shape of the windows and doors to construct the tunnel.
